Meet our new aspiring tattoo artist!
A few words about her style and where it came from? Engravings are an ancient printing technique that emerged in the 15th century when printers began using copper plates to create images. Initially, engravings were primarily used to illustrate books and spread knowledge. Artists would carve their designs onto metal plates, then ink them and print on paper. Engravings became popular in Europe, especially during the Renaissance, with artists like Albrecht Dürer creating intricate and beautiful compositions. This technique was precise and allowed for detailed images with rich shading.
Engravings were also used for creating maps, illustrating histories, and portraying important figures. By the 18th century, as new printing techniques developed, engravings began to lose popularity. However, they are still valued today as a unique art form and an inspiration for contemporary artists. Engravings combine craftsmanship, history, and art, leaving a lasting mark on cultural heritage.
